I have been asked by a few customers to design a pouch for them to carry their paper or reusable straws. I went through a few designs before I settled on this simple zippered pouch.
Plastic straws have been receiving a lot of attention of late and many people are looking for alternatives that have less of a negative impact on the planet. National Geographic reports Americans use 5 million disposable straws daily. That’s a lot of plastic. Carrying paper straws or a reusable straw that can be washed are methods to avoid the waste and are becoming more popular by the day. I was surprised by how many of my customers said they use them.
I designed two versions of the same pouch, The Strawz, for those who carry paper straws or straws with a bend, and the Skinny Strawz for those who want something very low profile for one or two straws or one reusable straw with a cleaning brush.
These pouches provide an easy, and attractive way to corral your straws in your purse or the glove compartment of your car.
Here’s a few examples of some of these pouches in my shop.
